To do so, you will be playing cards at night to help them fall asleep. You can pick from various cards that do all kinds of things like counting stars, spinning around, and more to reduce their soberness and make them sleepy.
There are two playable characters in the game, each with unique circumstances and conditions that have an effect on a specific card. You can expand and build your deck with more cards by doing activities during the day, such as jogging, yoga, and others. There's also an extra Deep Dream Mode for even more challenging gameplay. There is a moderate learning curve to figuring out how everything works at the beginning, tough.
